You are strongly advised to obtain your private hire drivers licence before applying for your private hire vehicle licence as only a Wolverhampton private hire licensed driver can drive a Wolverhampton private hire licensed vehicle. You therefore need a debit or credit card to make the payment. Further details are shown here and must be paid electronically as part of this application process. The Fee for this type of application varies depending on the age of the vehicle and the duration requested. If the DBS certificate contains information, a hearing may be required to be held to determine whether the individual is fit and proper to hold a licence, in consideration of the Council’s ‘Guidelines Relating to Relevance of Convictions and Breaches of Licence Conditions’, prior to the licence being granted. You must upload your basic DBS certificate as part of the application process. Certificates must be dated within the 12 months prior to application. If the applicant is a company or partnership, each director and partner must provide a basic DBS certificate. – From 1 April 2021, if vehicle licence applicants are not a driver licensed by City of Wolverhampton Council, you must provide a Basic DBS certificate from the UK Government. You will need to contact the authority direct to withdraw the application/request. Where applications/requests have been submitted, these will be transferred to the City of Wolverhampton Council. Any data entered on the form or uploaded as part of the submission or request will be automatically deleted after 30 days. Prior to submission closing the browser window will end your session.
